The Spanish metal scene has been in bloom for some time but it is rare to see these bands get the recognition they deserve. Bands like Overdry, V3ctors and now Vita Imana have been making the right kind of waves. Luckily for Vita Imana they seem to be riding it all the way to Sonisphere!
Sharing the Saturday stage with bands like Gojira, Slayer, Fear Factory, Mastodon and Metallica should give these guys the kind of attention they've no doubt been craving. Catch them on Saturday 26th May at the Sonisphere Festival in Getafe (Madrid).

Stop hunting in Dry Bone Valley!
Mastodon have been delivering some seriously good metal for some time now. The commercial success of 'Crack the Skye' came about thanks to hundreds (possibly thousands) of excellent reviews online thus creating a tidal wave of good vibes for this Atlanta outfit.
Their last effort 'The Hunter' is not a concept album like is predecessor but has a rich blend of speed fuelled riffs and mushroom infused psychedelia.

Bands of the Moment
Sure... so we all have those bands that we keep going back to for inspiration, memories and a lil'self indulgance but right now there are plenty of bands that could one day be like those above.
What bands you say? Well to name a few, Evile, Mastodon, Baroness.. perhaps not all house hold names, and by no means 'Newcomers'. Evile represents all that was great about the 80's thrash scene and its quite annoying that it has taken a relatively new band to really demonstrate a standard of writing that we all hoped Metallica would show for the past ten years. On the other hand its about time Megadeth and Slayer were on the verge of being over-shadowed by something other than American Metalcore.
Mastodon and Baroness are like two leaves fallen from the same tree. Mixture of Prog and Metal, which intricate timings and beautiful lyrics driven forward by beards and a distinct lack of personal hygiene.
