Album you Probably Never Heard of...

Band: Army of Anyone
Album: Army of Anyone

Being a bit of a Wikipedia whore I tend to spend way too much time researching bands and what everyone is up to and am kinda relieved that some random person keeps me up to date with exactly who Im looking for. This one instance a couple of years ago involved me wondering what the guys from Stone Temple Pilots were doing and it turned out the the brothers DeLeo were working on a new project. Being the main songwriters in STP I could only feel intrigued to find out a bit more and check out this new project.

Army for Anyone had a myspace page and I soon found out that Mr Patrick from FILTER was on vocals. Now I was never a huge FILTER fan, but the guy has some pipes so when the song 'Goodbye' begun I was very interested. Needless to say, it is probably the stand out track on the album, especially the drum solo part which has me mesmerised every time I hear it.

Its a shame this isnt a STP album but then again, judging by where Velvet Revolver went with their 2nd album Im happy Scott Weiland wasnt given the opportunity to mess this album up. Army of Anyone lacked the major label backing that VR had but this single album is better written, played and has more depth than both VR albums put together. Its a testament to good songwriting.

Other tracks worth checking out on this album are:

It Doesn't Seem to Matter
Stop, Look and Listen

  1. Yep, good one - I also particularly like Goodbye and the drum solo is awesome. Worth picking up!
